Diagnostics & Repair

Technological chain of actions required for automatic transmission's service:

Automatic transmission – one of the most complicated and hi-tech elements of the vehicle. Therefore, at each stage of its repair qualified professionals are required.

  1. Entrance diagnostics
  2. Transmission dismantling from the vehicle
  3. Transmission fault detection of its details and knots
  4. Discussing with the customer the options of spare parts that will be used in the repair
  5. Repair and replacement of parts that failed or demanded obligatory replacement
  6. Transmission assemblage
  7. Installation on the car
  8. Target diagnostics

At the entrance stage our skilled experts carry out a complex diagnostics on your car. We diagnose with a special device called a scanner, which reads the malfunction codes written in the memory of transmission's and engine's control modules (TCM/ECM). The following step of diagnostics is checking the transmission's control system's pressure, then the serviceability of gauges, conducting, switches and sockets. The important part is to check the torque converter's working capacity by performing the engine stall test.

If checking in the stationary conditions has not allowed to precisely define the transmission's malfunction, the skilled driver performes a road test of your vehicle. At this stage, the work of transmission units, the engine and the management systems are checked. Automatic transmission's work depends on the work of the engine, so during the road test it is given not less of attention.

After a carefull survey we make a defective sheet, show and explain the reasons of the fault to the customer. We make recommendations of the parts that might demand replacement. We do not impose additional unnecessary work or materials to increase the cost of service. The staff of our transmission shop are competent professionals, who operatively and precisely define malfunctions, always consult with the customer and offer the optimal decision.

In case of transmissions necessity of rebuild the transmission is dismantled from the car (only with the customers approval) and our transmission rebuilder examines the condition of transmissions serving system. After dismantling, the transmission is placed on a major repair site, where a full dismantling of transmission is performed, and after washing all the parts their fault is inspected and the possibility of further use of each part or necessity of replacement is defined.

Upon completion of this procedure the sheet of replaced parts is made, which is coordinated with the customer. It is important to understand that during major repairs, such as transmission rebuild, it is sometimes necessary irrespectively of transmissions condition to replace all seals, gaskets, clutches, necessary bearings (bushings), filters and solenoids.

Transmission's installation is made by taking in consideration all technical requirements. At this stage transmission's failed fastenings and auxiliary systems (transmission and engine mounts) are replaced. Besides, during the installation process the transmission's control system's external parts preliminary adjustments are carried out.

Target diagnostics and the vehicle road test are performed in the same way as the entrance diagnostics.

With special attention we also check the transmissions lubricants – oils. The correct selection of oil increases transmission life of operation. As well as the quality of oil, the amount of it in the transmission has a big importance, too.

You can find out more about the importance of transmission oil by visiting our transmission shop and consulting with our professionals.
